MANILA, Philippines — Can you forgive a murderer?
Multi-awarded actress Cherry Pie Picache found inner peace in forgiving the killer of her mother Zenaida Sison.
In a documentary titled “Radical Love,” Picache shares her quest to forgiving Michael Flores after he stabbed her mother to death in September 2014.
Through the documentary under ABS-CBN DocuCentral, the seasoned actress hopes to remind the audiences to be compassionate to others.
“I just hope that we can all be reminded of love, of compassion, of forgiveness. I hope we can all be reminded of yung caring for other human beings and taking action,” Picache said.
She said her mother was killed inside their house, but despite having a lot of neighbors, no one dared to interfere.
“So you know, I’m hoping yung care natin for other human beings is awakened. For us to always come from a place of love rather than ‘yung bawian kaagad, manlaban kaagad, gumanti kaagad,” she added.
Prior to the incident, Picache has been involved in prison ministry which seeks to promote rehabilitation of incarcerated individuals.
In “Radical Love,” which took two years to make, Picache shares her heartwarming encounter with Flores.
The documentary will air on Sunday, July 7, at ABS-CBN’s “Sunday’s Best.” (Editor: Eden Estopace)
