MANILA, Philippines — As a child, singer and former National Youth Commission (NYC) chair Ice Seguerra was among those who cry during back-to-school season.
This was exposed by his mom, Caridad Esguerra, in the comment section of TV Patrol.
“Yung nilaglag ako ng nanay ko sa comment section ng TV Patrol,” Ice said in a post sharing a screen grab of his mom’s comment.
Caridad recalled the time she accompanied Ice to the new school.
“May dalawang teacher doon na susundo sayo nakatawa ka pa pero nang sabihin na sa akin na ‘Sige po, iwan niyo na po ang anak niyo,’ heto na nagiiyak at mama nang mama,” Caridad said.
(There were two teachers then who even smiled at me to say I can leave him with them. Then, Ice started crying “Mama, Mama.”)
Ice’s teachers, Caridad shared, had to hold both his hands to bring him up the school building.
“So ang ginawa ng teachers hinawakan yong magkabilang kamay at sabay nilang itaas ang katawan para maiakyat sa building (What the teachers did was hold both his hands so they can bring him up the building.),” she said.
“Imbes na maawa ako natawa ako sa eksena at yong ibang nakakita, ganun din tawanan (Instead of pitying him, I laughed along with other people who saw the incident),” she added.
Netizens flooded the comment section of Ice’s Instagram post with laughing emoticons.
The funny memory even led singer Sitti Navarro-Ramirez to comment: “Hahaha Tita Caring is the best!!! ” (Editor: Eden Estopace)
