MANILA, Philippines — Heartfelt messages and accolades from celebrities poured in once news about the passing of veteran actor and director Eddie Garcia broke out Thursday afternoon.

Actress Bella Padilla took to Twitter to express her sadness over the death of an “icon.”
“We lost an icon today. This is truly heartbreaking. Rest easy, sir. I love all the conversations I was blessed to share with you, and I will remember you fondly forever,” she wrote.

Actress Jasmine Curtis, meanwhile, recalled seeing Garcia a few weeks ago as she lamented “a great loss in the entertainment industry.”
“The rain is pouring so hard… I feel like the afternoon is crying it’s heart out because of a great loss in the entertainment industry, Tito Eddie Garcia,” she wrote on Twitter.
“You are an amazing person and actor. What an honor to have been in your presence just a few weeks back…,” she added.
