Poe hopeful Eddie Garcia will soon recover

MANILA, Philippines — Believing that miracles do happen, Senator Grace Poe expressed hope Thursday that veteran actor Eddie Garcia will soon recover.

Garcia met an accident while taping for a television series in Tondo, Manila last Saturday, June 8.

“Palagi namang may mirakulo habang may buhay,” Poe said Thursday in an ambush interview at Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium.

The senator on Wednesday visited the actor who was confined at Makati Medical Center.

While she refused to give updates on Garcia’s condition, she said she knows the actor will not give up just like his characters in movies.

A medical bulletin from Makati Medical Center said the actor continues to be in “critical condition.”

Poe recounted moments she had with the veteran actor who was close to her late father Fernando Poe Jr.

Describing the veteran actor as “thoughtful,” Poe also recalled how Garcia was always present during important events of her life.

“At hindi lamang ‘yon, very thoughtful. Lahat ng events ko, nag-40th birthday ako, nag-50th birthday ako. Nag-asawa ako, nag-anniversary ako ng 25 years,” she noted.

Garcia suffered a neck injury after tripping and tumbling while shooting for GMA Network television series “Rosang Agimat” last Saturday.
