‘Bahay Bata’ wins in France

Filipino filmmaker Eduardo Roy Jr.’s “Bahay Bata” won the Lotus du Jury (jury prize) at the 14th Deauville Asian Film Festival, held in France from March 7 to 11. It’s the second international honor for the Cinemalaya film, after winning Special Mention at the Vancouver fest last year. After Deauville, “Bahay Bata” will compete at the Las Palmas Gran Canaria fest in Spain (March 16 to 24). Roy is one of the honorees in the 2nd Inquirer Indie Tribute.
