Eddie Garcia under ‘critical observation’ after heart attack

MANILA, Philippines — Veteran actor Eddie Garcia on Saturday was put under “critical observation” after suffering a “severe heart attack” while taping for an upcoming GMA teleserye.
In an official statement released by his family, doctors tending to the 90-year-old actor were “doing their best to assure that he gets the best care.”
“Our family would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all those who have expressed concern and extended prayers,” the statement read. “At 90, he is still doing what he loves most, acting.”
It was earlier reported that the 90-year-old actor fell on the set during their location shooting in Manila and that he had slipped into a coma.

A Facebook post by director Armand Reyes read that Garcia was later “revived” and was set to be transferred to a hospital in Quezon City.
