MANILA, Philippines — Actress Claudine Barretto appealed for respect of privacy after a fan attempted to meet her outside her home.

A fan commented on Tuesday in Barretto’s Instagram post, expressing dismay that the actress’ personal assistant tagged her as a “gatecrasher.”

“Clau, ako c Ate Nica yung kinasuhan ng PA mo na gatecrasher sa Marikina. Fan mo ako pero naUpset ng instead na kitain mo ganun nangyari,” the fan said.

But Barretto explained she did not allow strangers inside their home to protect herself and her kids.

“I’m sorry but we cannot & don’t entertain people we hardly know, let alone allow strangers to come to our home uninvited. sorry to disappoint u but its not proper & right to just go to anyone’s house when they don’t even know u,” Barretto said.

“My staff we’re just doing their Job & that is to Protect me Especially my CHILDREN.Godbless hope this stops here with me & doesn’t happen to anyone in the future.Pls Respect our PRIVACY,” she added.

Netizens agreed with Barretto, with some pointing out it is not right to invade a celebrity’s privacy just because they are a fan.
