Derek Ramsay is determined to add more feathers in his cap. The actor, TV host, product endorser, Ultimate Frisbee player and beach soccer ambassador will soon be a basketball player.
“I love the game of basketball. I always considered myself an athlete before an actor. I know there will be haters and people who will doubt me, but that’s OK,” Derek declared. “This is a challenge that I’ve decided to take on. I hope to help the team in any possible way I can.”
The 42-year-old is set to join the Batangas City-Tanduay Athletics team for this season’s Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL), which will open on June 12 at the Mall of Asia Arena. He will also play in their Dubai game in September.
Derek will soon be on the list of celebrities who played for the MPBL, including Gerald Anderson, Xian Lim, Mark Andaya and Andre Paras.—MARINEL R. CRUZ
