WATCH: BTS channels The Beatles on ‘Colbert’ debut

MANILA, Philippines— Global Korean boy group sensation BTS dressed as The Beatles when they performed for the first time in American talk show “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

The seven-member group sang their latest single “Boy With Luv” on Thursday at the historic Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City.

It was on this stage where The Beatles or the “Fab Four” made their U.S. debut more than 50 years ago.

RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, V, Jimin and Jungkook donned black and white matching suits for a black-and-white broadcast.

The tribute was spot on as the drum set in the background also wrote “BTS” in The Beatles’ signature font.

“You can call them the Fab Seven. It has a nice ring to it,” said Colbert as he channeled the late American TV personality Sullivan.

BTS’ success has been compared to that of The Beatles’ after being the first band since the Fab Four to have three No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart in a year.

BTS’ recent album “Map of the Soul: Persona” is their third No. 1 album in less than a year after “Love Yourself: Answer” in September 2018 and “Love Yourself: Tear” last May 2018. (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
