Toni Gonzaga on Malacañang dinner: I don’t know why we’re invited
MANILA, Philippines — Actress and host Toni Gonzaga revealed Thursday that she does not know why they were invited at the recent private dinner held in Malacañang.
Gonzaga said she and her fellow artists were also shocked to see each other since they had no clue about who were invited to the dinner.
“Lahat kami nagkagulatan na, ‘Invited ka pala, invited ka pala.’ Kasi it was such a private invitation na hindi namin alam kung sino ‘yung mga makakasama namin,” she said during an ambush interview at the press conference of her sitcom “Home Sweetie Home.”
(We were all surprised. We said to each other: ‘Invited ka pala.’ Because it was such a private invitation that we didn’t know who were invited.)
“Hindi rin namin alam kung bakit kami ‘yung mga napili na dumating because I wasn’t active during the whole campaign nung presidential, hindi ako nangampanya. Kaya nagulat din ako,” she added.
(We didn’t know why we were chosen because I wasn’t active during the whole campaign in 2016. I didn’t campaign. So I was surprised.)
