“I’m happy—just happy. Now I know what it feels like to hear your name being called at an awards night,” singer-actor Nar Cabico said of winning the best actor trophy at the recent Sinag Maynila Film Festival, for his performance in the film “Akin ang Korona.”
“I hope to win another one,” he told reporters at a press conference for GMA 7’s romantic comedy series “Love You Two,” which he’s part of. “I was met with outpouring love from my colleagues on the set.”
The victory has inspired him to work even harder. He feels blessed that projects—in acting and music—are coming at a steady pace. Never did he imagine that he would reach the point where he had to turn down a project because of his schedule.
“Law Fajardo (filmmaker) is shooting a movie in Japan. I could have been part of that, but I have an ongoing series,” said Nar, who was also seen in the rock opera ballet “Tales of the Manuvu.”
He also revealed that a solo concert may be in the works in September. “But it’s good to be busy. I’m my family’s breadwinner. So the more work I get, the more people I get to feed,” he pointed out. —ALLAN POLICARPIO
