Filipino VPeepz finishes 4th in US ‘World of Dance’

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino dance group VPeepz finished in fourth place in the American competition “World of Dance.”

The group received an average score of 93.7 with their dance routine of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ “Can’t Hold Us.”

“The synchronicity, the intricacy. You had stepping in there. You had locking in there. There were so many styles, the energy was off the charts. Well done guys. Amazing final routine. Great job,” judge Derek Hough said after the group’s performance.

Judge Ne-Yo, on the other hand, pointed out the group’s fast moves, saying “The V in VPeepz stands for very fast-moving group.”

“You guys should be proud. You guys swept your division and now you’re up against the adults,” judge Jennifer Lopez said.

VPeepz was named as the Junior Team Division Champions last week which paved the way for them to be among the competition’s finalists.

In a Facebook post on Monday, the group said it was an honor to represent the country in the competition and expressed thanks to those who have supported them in the journey.

“SURREAL. To make it to the World Final of World of Dance is such a huge opportunity to showcase our brand of dance and Filipino talent. It’s an honor to go up against the best dancers at the highest level of competition,” the group wrote.

“We thank all our supporters for staying with us all throughout this journey,” it added. “IT’S A DREAM COME TRUE. Moving forward to greater things ahead.”
