If Dramatic Star has made herself scarce these days, it’s because she’s busy with her love life. Longtime Friend learned through a common pal, Acclaimed Director, that DS is “engaged” to be married (for the second time) to Rich Guy, who is separated, just as she is. LF is happy for DS, of course. But when LF told other industry insiders, they raised a collective brow. Non-believers!
Missent, misfire
Upstart Producer was upset with Sexy Actress’ Talent Manager. As in, livid. UP sent Newbie Director via text an expletive-filled diatribe against TM. Unfortunately, the text was sent to TM! Incensed, TM pulled out SA from the project, though ND wanted to re-shoot scenes. Now ND complains that SA was being difficult and TM says ND’s staff is to blame for the confusion.
Addicted to hunks
Colorful Character is addicted to hunks. She is often seen in the company of handsome men who are way taller and better-looking. Splashed on Facebook are photos of CC with a known gigolo who dabbles in show biz. Oh dear.
Painful secret
Matinee Idol made the ladies swoon in his heyday. Had the girls known his secret, they would’ve been turned off right from the start. Before MI was launched by home studio in the 1980s, his handlers had to find a doctor who could be trusted with a nasty secret. Turned out, MI acquired an unprintable disease after visiting women of ill repute. He had to undergo painful treatments. Ouch!
Top of the Talk Shows
For those who missed last weekend’s TV gabfests (and why we are moved, if we are moved):
Jennylyn Mercado on her biological mom Jinky Pineda saying that Jen was not a victim of child abuse: “That’s my mom. Walang question na kailangan mahalin mo ’yung anak mo, para mahalin ka ng anak mo. Irespeto mo ’yung anak mo, para irespeto ka rin niya, ’di ba? In the long run, ’di naman niya talaga niya ako tinanggap, eh. So, sino ang nagsisinungaling?” (We wish talents would sort themselves out before attempting to be public figures.)
Heart Evangelista, asked if she’s ready to settle down with boyfriend Daniel Matsunaga: “I used to have an ideal age [to get married], ngayon wala na. If the time is right, malalaman mo… kung selfish ka pa, kung meron ka pang gustong ma-experience, o meron ka pang gustong makamit… wala pa kaming gustong gawin.” (Sounds like a no.)
Jolina Magdangal on what she wants regarding her coming wedding: “Simple man, o kung ano man, dapat masaya.” (That’s a reasonable requirement, yes.)
Alessandra De Rossi on being single for the past four years: “Ano naman ang gusto niyong gawin ko, eh wala ngang nanliligaw sa ’kin!” (Oo nga naman.)
Baron Geisler, asked if he has plans of apologizing to all the women who accused him of sexual harassment: “No more na, kasi I think nakapag-apologize na po ako sa lahat. And I’ve surrendered it all to the Lord. Nagdadasal din ako na mawala na sa mga puso nila kung anuman ’yung nararamdaman nilang hinanakit.” (Pie, are you reading this?)
Mark Herras on rumors that he and girlfriend Ynna Asistio have broken up: “Hindi totoo… mga haters lang talaga ’yun, walang magawa sa mga buhay nila; mga nanghihimasok at nakikialam.” (Ayy, angry.)
John Lloyd Cruz on rumors that she and girlfriend Shaina Magdayao are engaged: “Hindi po ’yun totoo. Kung tunay kang nagmamahal at wala naman kayong tinatapakang ibang tao, hindi mo dapat itago. Kung meron man kaming dapat sabihin, at kung totoo mang nangyari, ’di namin ipagkakaila.” (Ayy, matalinghaga.)
John Estrada on the person he wants to apologize to: “Sa isang kaibigan ko na alam naman natin kung sino. Wala akong planong saktan siya,… I just really have to work, too… Minsan ma-re-realize mo, bakit ka magso-sorry in the first place, eh wala ka namang kasalanan? But… kung nasaktan ka man, pasensiya na.” (Not even Janice? Sorry seems to be the hardest word, sabi nga nung isa pang John, si Elton.)
Louise De Los Reyes, asked who Enzo Pineda is in her life: “A special friend” (Oh, we all know that kind of show biz friend.)
Dennis Trillo reacts to Jennylyn Mercado’s exposé in Yes!
