Celebrities Solenn Heussaff, Manilyn Reynes and uncle-nephew pair Tirso Cruz III and Rodjun Cruz had recently serenaded their fans with stripped down covers, showcasing their musical chops and earning praise from their friends.
Fans were in for a treat when the television personalities shared their heartfelt covers on their respective Instagram accounts this week.
Filipina-French actress and model Solenn Heussaff recorded a touching cover of “Dear Insecurity” by Gnash featuring Ben Abraham yesterday, April 10, dedicating the song to the girls who think that she has no insecurities.
“I have many. We all do,” the model confessed. “It’s important to remind yourself that this happens because of negative people around us and perfectly curated feeds.”
She also gave advice to her fans: “Stop comparing, stop, be mindful, start making real connections with people and know that your flaws are what make you beautiful. Keep smiling loves, life is way too short.”
Friends Angel Locsin, Karen Davila and Iza Calzado also commended the singer-actress’ cover.
“Love the message of the song!!!” actress Iza Calzado said.
On the other hand, actor Rodjun Cruz made fans swoon as he jammed with his “tito idol” Tirso Cruz III, singing 1994 True Faith song “Huwag Na Lang Kaya” yesterday, April 10.
The duo enjoyed the music by the pool, with the 31-year-old actor’s smooth, RnB-esque vocal style accompanied by the veteran actor’s acoustic guitar plucking.
Meanwhile, “Pepito Manaloto” actress Manilyn Reynes sang a sweet rendition of The Carpenters’ “I Just Fall in Love Again” in a series of video clips posted on Monday, April 8.
“Actually kinakabahan po ako kasi first time kong tutugtog ng gitara na may camera (Actually I am nervous because it is my first time playing guitar with a camera),” the 1980s sweetheart confessed, as her camera was attached to the end of her guitar.
Singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid praised Reynes, saying, “Husay!!!” while “Inday Will Always Love You” co-star Gladys Reyes said, “Sis [I like] that song! Galing ng acoustic mo. Gawin [natin] sa Estela (Your acoustic is great. Let’s do this in Estela).” Estela is Reyes’ restaurant in Cainta.
Good job to these multi-talented stars! NVG
