Juan Miguel Severo: ‘I masturbate but I don’t kill’
Poet and actor Juan Miguel Severo gave his take on the recent sex video issue involving musician Jim Paredes.
Paredes admitted yesterday, April 1, that the video was real and had been private.
Severo commented today, April 2, on Twitter, that the shock over such a video may be attributed to how sexual content is censored in media, something not strictly observed when it comes to violence.
“Probably a hot take but as long as the MTRCB and the Church refuse to lift their heavy hands on sex and sexuality in the media whilst being lenient on death and violence, the brutal killing of farmers will always be overshadowed by a music man’s fap break.”

In another tweet, he said, “Good afternoon. I masturbate, too. But I don’t kill.”
The “Hows of Us” actor has been vocal about his stand on issues hounding the present administration, as he also opposes the war on drugs.
Actor and director Nor Domingo replied to Severo’s tweet: “I’ll put it this way: Jim Parades massacred millions of sperms. But that is nothing compared to thousands of lives.”

“Did Jim Paredes violate anyone? Yet, he is being crucified,” Domingo further said. “Our president confesses he molests their maid and then goes to the bathroom for the ‘usual’ twice, and we laugh. What is wrong with us?”

Paredes said in his apology that those who support the current administration may have been behind the violation of his privacy. The musician has also been vocal of his criticism of the Duterte administration. JB
