Actor-director Rivero’s case ‘closed’ with attacker’s arrest—police

MANILA, Philippines – The stabbing of actor-director Ricky Rivero Monday is a closed case with the arrest of his assailant, Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent George Regis said Tuesday.

“We are considering it as a closed case since the suspect has been apprehended. Rivero has identified his attacker as Hans Ivan Ruiz. [Rivero] said that he was stabbed several times by the suspect when he tried to protect his valuables,” said Regis.

A wounded Rivero drove himself to the Philippine Heart Center Monday morning after he was stabbed by Ruiz, who told the media that he was asked by the actor-director to stay in the apartment Sunday night. Karen Boncocan
