Edu Manzano, Mark Lapid exit ‘Ang Probinsyano’ a day before local campaign period starts
MANILA, Philippines — The characters played by Edu Manzano and Mark Lapid in ABS-CBN action drama series “Ang Probinsyano,” met their ends a day before the start of official campaign for local candidates.
Manzano and Lapid’s characters President Cabrera and Anton, respectively, died during the show’s episode which aired on Thursday.
Manzano is running for congressman in San Juan City, while Lapid is eyeing a mayoral seat in Porac, Pampanga.
Their characters were killed during an encounter with the group of Coco Martin’s character Cardo.
The campaign period for local candidates kicked off on Friday, Mar. 29.

Jhong Hilario’s character, Homer aka Alakdan, exited the action drama show last Wednesday. He is eyeing a re-election as Makati City councilor in the upcoming May 2019 election.

Meanwhile, senatorial bet Lito Lapid’s character Romulo ahead of the start of official campaign for national candidates last February. /muf
