MANILA, Philippines — Noah Centineo continues to make girls’ hearts flutter as Netflix finally unveiled the first trailer of his upcoming film “The Perfect Date.”
The streaming giant dropped on Wednesday the trailer of Centineo’s romantic comedy comeback film via their Youtube channel and other social media accounts.
Centineo, 22, plays the character of Brooks Rattigan who hopes to attend an Ivy League school, but does not know whether he can afford the tuition.
In the trailer, Brooks agrees to rent himself out on a date with a stranger named Celia Lieberman, played by Laura Marano, and realizes he can make cash in being a professional plus-one.
“I’m offering my services as a chaperone for whatever it is that girls want,” Brooks says in the trailer. “Every date would be custom-built. They could pick my personality, my interests, whether I’m a listener or a talker.”
Brooks then launches an app called “The Stand In” where anyone can pay him to play the perfect stand-in boyfriend or date in any event.
He eventually meets the girl of his dreams named Shelby, played by Camila Mendes, and as real feelings emerge, things get more complicated.
“The Perfect Date” is Centineo’s third rom-com with Netflix following “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” and “Sienna Burgess is a Loser.”
The film will be available for download and streaming in Netflix starting April 12, 2019. /jpv
