‘A Walk to Remember’ stars Mandy Moore and Shane West reunite

Singer and actress Mandy Moore recently received a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, California.

Like any other star ceremony, a close friend or family usually gives a heartwarming speech about the celebrity.

For Moore, it was none other than her “A Walk to Remember” co-star Shane West.

West and Moore starred in the  2002 film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ acclaimed romance novel. Shane played the rich bad boy Landon Carter who falls for the angelic but terminally ill Jamie Sullivan.

If you thought the film was a tearjerker, you better hear West’s speech for Moore during her star inauguration, as posted by Variety.

West said that when they first met, they were “very opposite,” which prompted A Walk to Remember director Adam Shankman to pair them in the film.

“Let’s put the two opposites attract together, and what can I say, I’m glad he [Shankman] did,” West said.

West added that the film was a wonderful experience in every way. “It also gave me a chance to fall for a fantastic woman,” West said pointing to Moore.

He described Moore as “a gem,” with a smile that is “ridiculous” and instantly lights up a room when she walks in.

“Your heart is second to none… I couldn’t be more proud of you. I couldn’t be more happier for you. I love you,” West concluded.

Moore, on her part, wrote a tribute to West on Instagram.

“Stars have always sort of been our thing,” she wrote. JB
