Mike Tan, practical shopper

ACTOR Mike Tan claims he is a practical shopper, buying branded stuff only when they go on sale.

“Imagine how much you’ll save by being patient,” Mike tells Living Stars.

But he’d spend for the sake of durability and comfort. “A cheap wallet would last only two months. I’d buy a more pricey one in genuine leather that I could use longer,” explains the cast member of the coming series “Captain Barbell” on GMA 7.

Footwear

My favorite pair of slippers is from Nike. I just had it resewn. I’ve misplaced it—nahanap ko lang ulit.

The gray rubber shoes from Diesel are very comfortable. I tried to buy more of the same design … I had a white version, which I left in Cam Sur during a trip.

Scents

Polo Blue is one of my first perfumes. This is my fourth bottle. But my current favorite is Reaction by Kenneth Cole.

Video games collection

I have a whole closet of PC games—“Lord of the Rings,” “Return of the King,” “Final Fantasy”… I also got hooked on “World of Warcraft” and its expansions.

DVD collection

I have a lot of Al Pacino DVDs including “Scarface” and “Scent of a Woman.” I also have “The Godfather” trilogy, and interesting films like “Lorenzo’s Oil,” “The Awakening.” I’m a big Russel Crowe fan.

Bag

My favorite is a Quicksilver—I’m attached to it. I use it even if it doesn’t match the clothes I’m wearing, but not to the gym.

Suits

This is memorable (shows a classic white suit). I was wearing it when I won “Starstruck.” It was made by Ricci Lizaso. But my favorite is this one in midnight blue. It is unique, with a Chinese collar, and it has a zipper, not buttons.

Tops, bottoms

Comfort is very important to me. If my handlers allowed me to wear loose-fitting jeans to work, I would. I don’t like muscle shirts. Loose shirts and jeans, that’s me.

Accessories

My favorite watch is from No Curfew. Tom Cruise wore one in a movie.

This is my first leather wallet. So much has happened to this—fell into the toilet bowl … but I can’t bear to throw it away.

Shades

My favorite was my Oakley Thump, with a built-in mp3 player. I lost it at a computer shop. But I still have my Oakley Romeo.
