“We’re civil.”
This was how Cristine Reyes simply described her current relationship with estranged husband Ali Khatibi, in an interview on ANC’s “Headstart” aired Friday.
“We’re in good terms, especially with things we have to do when it comes to Amarah (their daughter),” Reyes said.
Although neither confirming nor denying they were indeed separated, Reyes shared her thoughts about when someone should know when a marriage has failed.
“Well ideally, it shouldn’t end,” Reyes said. “But it depends with the circumstances with, you know, whoever is married. But for me, ideally it’s not supposed to end, but if you’re not happy about it, you should do something about it.”
Rumors of Reyes and Khatibi’s separation started in January 2018, when she asked her fans in a now-deleted Instagram post to pray for her marriage.
In October 2018, she fueled speculations when she dropped the mixed martial artist’s surname on her Instagram account.
When her sister, Ara Mina, was asked about their supposed separation, she said that it was “not that easy to recover” from a split. However, she too kept mum on the couple’s real status. /ra
