Matteo Guidicelli, Erwan Heussaff and Nico Bolzico looked dapper in their uniforms when they were recently inducted as officers into the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Scenes from the induction ceremony in Puerto Princesa, Palawan was shared on social media by Jacques Branellec of Jewelmer Group on March 17.

“Congratulations to all the newly inducted officers of the Philippines Coast Guard Auxiliary 408 squadron,” Branellec wrote via Instagram. “It was an honor to welcome my brothers to help with the mission of the PCGA to aid in marine environmental protection, marine search and rescue, and youth environmental education.”

Guidicelli, Heussaff and Bolzico were addressed as lieutenant commanders.

The PCGA is a service-oriented, uniformed, voluntary organization established in 1972 through the Republic Act No. 5173. The PCGA is the assisting arm of the Philippine Coast Guard “in the conduct of search and rescue and safety of boats at sea.”

It also provides support to the PCG in promoting safety of life and property at sea, the preservation of the marine environment, maintaining aids to navigation, and recreational safety, among others.

“Special thank you to PCG Commodore Allen T. Toribio Commander of the Coast Guard district Palawan and Commodore Abadilla of the PCGA Palawan,” Branellec added in gratitude.

Meanwhile, the PCGA 116th Squadron also took to its Facebook page on March 17 where they posted a picture of Gudicelli, Bolzico and Heussaff from the induction ceremony.

“Onward we go!!!” the page wrote. “Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary. LCDR Nicolas A. Bolzico PCGA, LCDT Erwan J. Heussaff PCGA, LCDR Gianmatteo Vittorio Guidicelli PCGA.”

Congratulations to the new lieutenants! JB
