Kuh says no to supporting adulterous candidates
Kuh Ledesma has yet to decide on the candidates she will be supporting in the upcoming elections. But there’s one thing she’s sure of.
“I haven’t thought about it. But definitely, I will support someone who’s living a good life and not committing adultery,” she told reporters at a recent press conference for “3:16 The Promise: The 3rd Kuhl Event.” The coming inspirational, benefit concert will be held on March 16 at SM Mall of Asia Arena.
“Asar kasi ako sa adultery,” the seasoned pop-jazz singer added. “You know, I have always maintained that, anyone who can’t be faithful to his wife will not be faithful to the citizens. Wife mo nga, pinakasalan mo pero hindi ka faithful—paano pa kaya [’yung iba]?”
She’s busy with preparations for the concert at the moment. But once that’s over, Kuh plans to take her time to figure out who will be getting her vote. “That’s something I pray over. Our votes are important—they can save lives and our nation,” she said.
“3:16,” which will coincide with Kuh’s 64th birthday, features a lineup of music artists and celebrities whose aim isn’t solely to entertain, but also to inspire other people. Two of the big celebrities gracing the show are Sarah Geronimo and Daniel Padilla (call 0917-8139065).

“They were chosen because we know that they’re believers. They will talk a bit about how Jesus has helped them,” she said. “They will be singing positive pop songs and gospel songs. The set is going to be thought-provoking, but still entertaining.”
All the proceeds of the show will go to the Holy Bible Giver Foundation—a nongovernmental organization that gives Bibles to public schools and people living in depressed areas. Students can get tickets for free, Kuh said, provided they show an ID.
“We hope to deliver a strong message to the students, and help them become instruments of positivity and change,” she said.
So many are depressed, committing suicide. Life is a valuable thing and to be enjoyed. Bullies should be stopped because life is fragile and words are powerful. And it’s important for parents to be encouraging and loving.”
