MANILA, Philippines — Gretchen Barretto got a big surprise when her sister Claudine suddenly turned up at her 49th birthday celebration.
In an Instagram update on Thursday, Claudine said she surprised Gretchen with balloons.
“She thought I was not gonna see her on her birthday,” Claudine wrote in the caption.
The clip showed Gretchen welcoming her sister with a tight embrace. With them were relatives and close friends who celebrated Gretchen’s 49th birthday over dinner.
Gretchen, for her part, also posted an Instagram story of their interaction.
The siblings, who were reportedly not in good terms for years, reunited over dinner last Feb. 9, ending a strained relationship since 2013.
At that time, Gretchen sided with Raymart Santiago, Claudine’s ex-husband, over Claudine’s alleged use of drugs. /ee
