Kris Aquino laments Bong Go’s ‘naloko’ quip

MANILA, Philippines — Kris Aquino lamented on Wednesday senatorial bet Christoper “Bong” Go’s quip about her previous relationship with actor Philip Salvador during a campaign sortie.

Go, who is part of Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) slate, said in jest that Salvador had “fooled” Aquino.

HNP founder and campaign manager Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte said that since Aquino has voiced out her disapproval of Go’s skit, the former presidential aide will now stop using that spiel.

“I’m sure they will stop,” she told reporters who sought her comment on the issue after the campaign sortie of senatorial candidates endorsed by HNP at the San Juan City hall on Wednesday.

FEATURED STORIES

Go is among the 13 senatorial candidates of Sara Duterte’s HNP.

Aquino posted a video of the incident via Twitter saying, “So much hurt deeply in the past few days. I was shown this video while in [Japan] and had actually reached out to Senatorial Candidate Bong Go because turo ng Dad ko, panindigan mo na good sport ka (one of my dad’s teachings is to be a good sport).”

(Ipe [Salvador] has always accompanied me because he is my friend and that of the President. Unofficially, if you have done good deeds, you will be declared as an adopted son of the city. But the recognition given to Ipe is unique. He is an adopted father of Davao City because he left four children in Davao.)

“Totoo naman eh. Naloko mo nga si Kris Aquino (That’s true. He even fooled Kris Aquino),” Go added, which drew laughter from the crowd.

Aquino and Salvador were once in a relationship. Aquino’s eldest Josh is her son with the actor.

“Wala po akong atraso sa inyo SAP BONG GO. I have only had good words for you pero sana sa paglilingkod nyo para sa mga Pilipino bilang Senador (i know you are a SURE WINNER), sana priority nyo rin po ang mga kababaihan,” Aquino said.

(I have no problem with you, SAP BONG GO. I  only have kind words for you, but I hope that when you serve Filipinos as Senator  (I know you are a SURE WINNER), you will prioritize women.)

“Kris Aquino na ko pero madaling gawing “joke” na “naloko” ako ng ama ng panganay ko. Nagtrabaho ako, at hindi ako pinabayaan ng pamilya ko. (I am Kris Aquino but people can easily make a joke that the father of my eldest son fooled me. I worked hard, and my family never abandoned me). But what about the women without financial security & family?” she added.
