The flip side of Barbie’s sweet nature

Barbie Forteza

Barbie Forteza can relate to her role as Kara and also to Mika dela Cruz’s role as Mia in their new GMA series “Kara Mia.”

They play sisters whose faces share one body.

“Kara is the patient and kind one, while Mia is bratty,” Barbie pointed out. “We all have two sides, whether we admit it or not.”

“The flip side of my being sweet by nature is that I speak my mind,” she revealed. “I’m not the type who will suffer in silence. When something is wrong, I put my foot down.”

Attagirl. A Barbie (doll) isn’t just sugar and spice, après tout.

PBA did not stand for Philippine Basketball Association at the birthday bash of my Migo, James Yap, in his gastropub District 8. It stood for Party Boys Association. For a change, James and other professional cagers didn’t shoot, shoot the ball. Instead, they took shot after shot of booze.

James Yap

It was a welcome break for them from the grueling PBA Philippine Cup. James is ecstatic that his team, Rain or Shine, is on top of the standings.

I teased the birthday boy, “So, are you going to get married again anytime soon?” He replied, chuckling, “Is there a rumor about it?” We both had a good laugh.

Local movies have not been making a killing at the box office lately. Some show biz insiders are suggesting that Filipino films must open on a Friday, instead of Wednesday. Friday is party time leading up to the weekend. So hopefully, the change of schedule could lure more moviegoers. TGIF could very well mean “Tara Go Inside Film (theaters).”

Guessing game

Lady Celeb (LC) is on panic mode. Her glorious days are almost over since there is already a new beauty who has eclipsed her. LC is frantically trying to get all the rackets while she still can. People in the biz swear that LC has become a pain to work with. Fame has harmful side effects when not handled properly.

Personal: Congratulations to John and Rose Aquino and the rest of Chinoy Macau Travel and Tours team for their award at the 2019 International PAL Awards.
