Zac Efron’s new movie about American serial killer Ted Bundy will be heading to Netflix.

The streaming giant is said to be “closing in on a deal” for Efron’s new film titled “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile”, valued at $9 million (around P470 million), according to The Hollywood Reporter on Monday, Feb. 4.

The report cited that the company fought through a bidding war which involved STX Entertainment and Lionsgate. The film is expected to be released by fall, just in time for the awards season.

“Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile” tells the story of Bundy (to be played by Efron), who was known to have killed 30 or more women, through the perspective of girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, played by Lily Collins. It had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

The movie is directed by Joe Berlinger, the same filmmaker behind the documentary series “Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes” released last January. Katrina Hallare/JB
