René-Charles Angélil

Just like any mom who has a teenager, Celine Dion admitted that thinking about the fact that her son, René-Charles—the eldest of three children—was now old enough to go on dates and “bring girls home” had been “stressing her out.”

“I can’t believe it. For his 18th birthday, I said I’m so proud of him. He’s so athletic and the girls are starting to come now,” the pop star said of her son with her late husband, René Angélil, at the British talk show “Lorraine.” “I’m starting to get stressed out!”

But it’s not like she has a choice on the matter, she quipped. “I’m coping very well with it because that’s life and that’s normal. I know he’s well taken care of from above and that his dad is sending good energy,” she related. “I told him I will always have my heart in my hand for him to hold on to.”

The Canadian diva also said that she continued to see her husband through their children’s eyes. “Knowing that he’s now in peace and is resting and is always within me,” she said. “He gave me so much strength.”

Despite the fact that she’s still mourning, she can still say that she’s at her life’s best at the moment. “I want to enjoy and embrace every moment,” she pointed out. “It’s like I’m having a second wind—the wind beneath my wings. I’m having a good time.” —ALLAN POLICARPIO
