“I didn’t realize I was that important,” said actor Enchong Dee when reporters asked why he “liked” a post by Gretchen Barretto that was supposed to be a tirade directed at Kris Aquino.
“Mahilig ako mag-like. I ‘like’ a lot of posts every day. Napapansin pa pala ng tao ang nila-like ko?” Enchong told reporters at a recent media gathering for his film, Joel Ferrer’s romantic drama “Elise,” which hits cinemas on Feb. 6.
“You know me, I would speak about all sorts of things, be it political or environmental,” he pointed out, adding that, yes, he was well aware that Gretchen’s post was for Kris. “I know what I like and comment on.”
He also said he did not want the issue to get blown out of proportion. “I don’t want to elaborate on it anymore. I don’t want it to be a big deal or to be a part of promoting this movie,” he insisted. “It’s just a matter of how people will interpret what I did. I know what I like—that’s it!” —MARINEL R. CRUZ
