Arjo Atayde defends Alden Richards from netizen’s bashing

MANILA, Philippines — Actor Arjo Atayde has defended Alden Richards from a netizen who called the latter “bastos.”

A netizen with the handle @SeyerSerye tagged Atayde and Mendoza on Twitter and said, “Itong mang aamba ng suntok on National TV kailan ito naging tama, saan ang Gentleman jan? Noon pa BASTOS na sya kay MAINE.”

The netizen was quoting a tweet with a video that supposedly shows Richards throwing a punch at Mendoza which the actress immediately parried.

Atayde replied to the netizen on Friday and said, “Wag na po idamay si alden please.. lets just keep quiet and move on :)”

The netizen apologized to Atayde, saying “Sorry naman Jo, sobra na sila kasi kay Maine!” to which the latter replied with “I appreciate you.. don’t get me wrong.. but just be the better person and be happy :)”

The actor added, “The negative energy they give is useless it ain’t changing anything :) so smile!!! THANK YOU SA INYO.”

Atayde recently admitted that he and Mendoza are “exclusively dating.”

Photos of them together surfaced online last October 2018, prompting netizens to speculate about their relationship status.

Mendoza and Richards, collectively known as “AlDub,” became a phenomenal onscreen tandem in 2016 through the “Kalyeserye” segment of noontime show “Eat Bulaga.” /muf
