MANILA, Philippines — Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray proudly wore a Batik scarf as she flew to Indonesia for the first time.
The 25-year-old beauty queen posted a photo of herself donning a Batik, the traditional fabric of Indonesia via Instagram on Friday.
“My first time to wear and own a hand-painted Batik scarf. I love learning about another country’s textiles just as much as I love sharing my own,” she wrote in the caption.
Gray also shared snapshots of herself wandering the markets of Indonesia in a separate Instagram post.
She wrote: “Exploring the markets near the set! Next up…time to try Indonesian food!”
Gray recently flew to Indonesia to shoot a commercial for one of Miss Universe’s official sponsor.
This was after she made her media rounds in New York City where she will be staying during her reign as Miss Universe 2018. /muf
