Maine Mendoza: It’s never right to hate people

“Hate is such a strong feeling. And I hope we don’t let it get the best of us.”

Thus said Maine Mendoza in response to a fan’s Twitter post, accusing actress Ria Atayde of using the 23-year-old star’s name to create hype for her projects.

“It’s never right to hate … people—whoever they may be,” Maine’s reply to the said netizen read. “Masyadong mabigat sa puso. Huwag sana tayo magpalamon.”

Ria is the sister of Arjo Atayde, who’s being linked to Maine.

Maine also urged the Twitter user to show “some respect” for the Atayde family. “Just stop this nonsense and let us all do better instead. They get projects because of their talent, not because of any other reason,” she wrote.

“Once and for all let’s give credit to whom it’s due,” Maine added. —ALLAN POLICARPIO
