Rapper Ja Rule is all fired up after not one, but two Fyre Festival documentaries were released on streaming services last week.
Both documentaries, Netflix’s “Fyre” and Hulu’s “Fyre Fraud” detailed the disaster that became of the music festival held on a private island in the Bahamas. Producers of the festival were Billy McFarland and Ja Rule himself; McFarland is currently in prison for fraud.
Fyre Festival turned out to be a scam — or as Ja Rule says in a scene from the docu, a result of “false advertising.”
Attendees who spent thousands of dollars wound up in an island with none of the promised food, water, luxury villas or music that were advertised. Guests were greeted with disaster tents and after a deluge of rain, ended up with soaked beds and panicked at the lack of resources and infrastructure on the island.
Ja Rule was having none of the heat he has received, as seen in tweets he has written since yesterday, Jan. 20.
“I love how ppl watch a doc and think they have all the answers…” he began.

He continued in another tweet on the same day, “I had an amazing vision to create a festival like NO OTHER!!! I would NEVER SCAM or FRAUD anyone what sense does that make???”
Ja Rule went after the two streaming companies as well. “Hulu PAID BILLY!!! That money should have went to the ppl in the Bahamas,” he wrote.
Hulu PAID BILLY!!! That money should’ve went to the Bahamian ppl Netflix PAID fuck Jerry the same guys that did the promo for the festival… 🤦🏾♂️

The rapper claimed McFarland was paid a sum of up to $250,000 to be interviewed for the Hulu documentary.
Because Billy was involved with BOTH he was trying to get them to pay him and Hulu bit… I heard they paid him somewhere btw 100 to 250… that money was supposed to go to the locals by LAW… https://t.co/f9g1kg8Z99

The rapper alleged, “Netflix PAID f*ck Jerry who also did all the promo for the festival. The docs clearly have Billy at fault but let’s blame the rapper lmao ok.”
“F*ck Jerry” refers to the social media marketing company Jerry Media, which developed the promotional content that social media influencers shared. Jerry Media produced the documentary.
He also claimed that he did not earn from the production, which the documentaries show was set up for failure.
I NEVER MADE OR GOT PAID ONE DOLLAR FROM FYRE… BUT EVERYONE ELSE DID!!! https://t.co/35fwx5iuvF

Today, Jan. 21, he said, “I too was hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hood winked, lead astray!!!”

Back in 2017, after desperate attendees’ tweets went viral, Ja Rule claimed the event was not a scam: “I truly apologize as this is not my fault… but I’m taking responsibility.” JB
