MANILA, Philippines — Actress and TV host Maine Mendoza defended Arjo and Ria Atayde from a netizen who accused the two of using Mendoza’s name to receive projects.
A netizen with handle @mcbill0524 tagged Ria on Twitter and said, “Ginamit mo nanaman name ni @mainedcm. Tindi ng pagiging user nyo magkapatid noh? Umingay na name nyo nagka project pa kayo dahil sa panggagamit nyo sa name ni Maine… Mga user tsk.. tsk..”

Mendoza replied to the netizen on Sunday and said, “I would appreciate if you’ll show some respect not just to our family but to theirs as well. Just stop this nonsense and let us all do better instead.”

She also said that the siblings receive projects because of their talents and urged the netizen to give credit where it is due.

In a separate tweet, the 23-year-old actress also stressed that it is never right to hate on people.
“I know everyone’s trying to prove a point here but whatever your reasons are, it is never right to hate on people – whoever they may be,” she wrote.
