Actor Matteo Guidicelli recently conquered the BOSS Ironman Motorcycle Challenge which saw him on the road for over 17 hours.
The endurance challenge, founded in 2006, was held last Jan. 18 to 20 at Pampanga Premiere Cars in an undertaking that dared riders to finish its 1,200 kilometer route in just 24 hours. It definitely was a herculean task, even for the avid rider Guidicelli, who spoke of his experience via Instagram.
“We successfully and safely finished the 2019 BOSS IRONMAN Challenge!” he said. “Wow let me say it was one heck of [an] experience!”
According to Guidicelli, he and his team — composed of Donikko Fernan and Jacques Branellec, among others — took exactly 17 hours and 45 minutes to finish the challenge. It was definitely no walk in the park for the boys, as he shared that it started raining while they were on the road.
“We finished in 17 hours and 45 minutes. We took off from Pampanga at 9:45 p.m. by 1 a.m. it started raining in Pagudpud all the way until 6 a.m.!! We were wet and freezing and that slowed down the pace for us. When sunrise came we started cooling down and enjoying the ride more.”
Sleep was the biggest challenge for Guidicelli and his teammates, who had to stop every now and then to take power naps. By God’s grace, however, they were able to finish the challenge without any mishaps.
“It was nuts! But definitely [a] good ride! Thank you LORD for keeping us and all other riders safe! Thanks to the people from local towns for cheering us on!”
But finishing the endurance challenge was only secondary to what was the best part of the event: seeing his girlfriend pop superstar Sarah Geronimo at the finish line. Mia Arcenas-Branellec, Jacques’ wife, was waiting as well for her husband.
“The best part was @miaarcenasbranellec and Sarah was at the finish line waiting for us,” he said. “THANK YOU.”
Congratulations, Matteo! JB
