Kris Aquino on autoimmune disease: ‘I will fight to become stronger’

MANILA, Philippines — Despite her serious condition, actress Kris Aquino said she will become stronger for her loved ones.

In a Facebook post, Aquino was in high spirits despite suffering from an autoimmune disease, which led her to fly to Singapore for medical treatment.

“What i have has no cure, but i can fight to become stronger for the people i love & the people who matter,” Aquino said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

“There are days kakayanin but I just underwent several surgical procedures and I need to build up my stamina. Ayoko nang magalit at mag self pity (I don’t want to get angry or wallow in self-pity). Lalaban ako (I will fight), to improve my outlook and my quality of life,” she added.

Aquino explained that the symptoms of the diseasse include “fatigue and achy muscles.”

“9 out of 10 people with an autoimmune disease is a woman. i am not a doctor, hindi rin po ako expert (I am not a doctor or an expert) but i have been diagnosed with several. If you google, “the early symptoms of many autoimmune diseases are very similar such as: fatigue, achy muscles etc…” (source healthline.com),” Aquino wrote.

“Posted this for awareness regardless of possible bashing kasi (because) at this point, care ko (what do I care),” she added.

Aquino also posted a video of her return flight to the Philippines. The actress was accompanied by her son, Bimby.

“It was a 25 to 30 minute walk from the check in counter to our Terminal 2 Gate,” she wrote. “Flying home. Thank you @singaporeair for the kind assistance and Adam for being compassionate. God bless you all. #laban❤️ Kris.” /ee
