Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters gets engaged to Tim Tebow

MANILA, Philippines — The start of 2019 is great for Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters as she just got engaged to boyfriend football and baseball professional Tim Tebow.

The couple shared the big news on their Instagram accounts on Friday by revealing snapshots from the special moment.

“Any dreams I’ve ever had, you’ve exceeded them all! I love you and I can’t wait to spend forever with you!” Nel-Peters wrote.

Meanwhile, the former Heisman Trophy winner and National Football League (NFL) quarterback expressed thanks to his 23-year-old beau.

“Thank you for saying YES and making me the happiest man in the world. You’re the love of my life, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you,” Tebow said.

Nel-Peters, who represented South Africa, was crowned the Miss Universe title in November 2017.

Tebow was born in Manila on August 14, 1987 to American parents who moved to the Philippines in the mid-1980’s as Baptist missionaries. They returned to the US when Tebow was three years old. /muf
