Iza: Love isn’t about the gender

Iza Calzado

Actress Iza Calzado, who has portrayed lesbian roles in films like “Barber’s Tales” and “Distance,” said she never had any girlfriend when she was younger. “I studied in an all-girl school in elementary. Mayroong ligaw-ligaw because I was kind of boyish then. Lapitin ako sa girls, but I didn’t really take notice of them.”

Iza, who is now married to British businessman Ben Wintle, added: “I appreciate women in all forms, shapes and sizes, but especially when they are very pleasing to the eyes and have beautiful faces.”

Has she ever considered dating a girl when she was still single?

“I thought about it, especially after every heart break,” Iza pointed out. “But I’m meant to be with a man. It just won’t work for me. Although I understand that it’s really not about the gender. It’s all about finding the person who is the perfect fit for you.”—MARINEL R. CRUZ
