Luis Manzano and Jessy Mendiola have something to say about people being too comfortable on disrespecting others on social media.

The couple, who had their own experience of being the subject of social media bashing, shared their respective opinions via the television host’s Instagram photo posted on Thursday.

Manzano’s post read: “Social media has made too many of you comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the mouth for it.”

His post garnered several opinions from his followers including his girlfriend Mendiola. “Unfortunately, they think that it’s okay because they are entitled to their ‘opinion’ and ‘freedom of speech…,'” she shared what she thought why netizens are empowered to bashing. “[But] what these people don’t realize is how much their words can affect one’s life, let alone end one.”

Agreeing with Mendiola’s words was a netizen going by @itsheartsanchez. “[Agree], words are very powerful especially when they use it against other people.”

Seeing her concern, Mendiola replied: “Ang daming nagco-comment sakin ‘mamatay ka na’ (I receive many comments saying ‘you should die’). I mean can you imagine?? Where is humanity? I would NEVER  wish that on someone else.”

While Mendiola got sympathy, Manzano got told by someone going by @joem_redecilla. “Including you by resharing those vids (videos) that seem funny for you but a shame for those who are on it,” he told the television host, who has had a habit of sharing humorous, and at times embarrassing, videos on his Instagram wall.

Manzano did not let the netizen’s comment pass by replying: “while the people in the videos also send me DMs (direct messages) laughing about the post.”

“I have had people DM for me to take down a post for one reason or another, I simply apologize and do it,” Manzan went on. “Other people even laugh and thank me for sharing their funny vid or moment.”

In a joint guesting on”Tonight with Boy Abunda” in November 2017, Manzano gave a message to their detractors when asked about how they deal with the hate they receive on cyberspace: “Hanggang internet lang kayo (The internet is all you got).”  /ra
