Netflix warns against ‘Bird Box’ challenge

MANILA, Philippines — Netflix has issued a warning after a challenge inspired by its film “Bird Box” starring Sandra Bullock made rounds online.
Netizens taking on the “Bird Box Challenge” wore blindfolds just like the characters of the film as they do everyday tasks.
“Can’t believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE,” Netflix said in a tweet on Thursday.

In the film, Malorie (Bullock) and her children Boy and Girl are blindfolded as they navigate through a river and a forest to protect themselves against supernatural entities that if seen, cause people to kill themselves.
According to Netflix, “Bird Box” became the most-watched film within the first seven days of its release in the streaming platform.
