Pop star Demi Lovato has mostly kept quiet about the circumstances that led to her drug overdose, which landed her in the hospital and rehab earlier this year.
Unfortunately, her silence on the issue inevitably sparked rumors and inspired tabloids to come up with their own stories and theories.
Demi is fed up.
“I love my fans and hate tabloids. Don’t believe what you read. People will literally make up stuff… Sickening,” she recently wrote on Twitter, adding that the alleged sources who sell stories about her life to such publications are frauds. “Most of the sh*t I see are so wrong. Your sources are wrong.”
One day she will tell her fans what really happened, she added. But it will be on her own terms.
“Someday, I will tell the world what exactly happened, why it happened, and what my life is like today,” Demi said.
“But until I’m ready to share that with people, please stop prying and making up sh*t that you know nothing about—I still need space and time to heal.”
“If I feel like the world needs to know something, I will tell them myself… Otherwise, stop writing about my recovery, because it’s no one’s business but mine,” said the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer, who’s just grateful to be “sober and alive” after the things she went through.
She also assured her fans that she’s “happy,” “clean” and “working hard” on herself.
“I’m so grateful for their support,” the American recording artist said. “I’m so blessed that I get to take this time to be with family, relax, work on my mind, body and soul and come back when I’m ready.”—ALLAN POLICARPIO
