I don’t really know if it’s easier to write songs when I’m happy or sad. Since I’ve had training in writing music, I can trigger the production of ideas, if needed. But really, it is different when one is in an emotional high or low because music speaks easier to us when we are in either condition. For a song to be heartfelt, you need an emotional boost.
