MANILA, Philippines – Actress Sarah Lahbati on Tuesday shared on social media the terror she felt when she learned about the horrifying drowning incident involving her mother in Siargao Island.

“I’ve been crying and shaking. This has never happened before,” she said.

In an Instagram story, Lahbati also appealed for netizens’ help as her mother was reportedly vomiting blood due to the incident.

“My mom is in Siargao, she drowned and vomited blood. Please, please, send help and prayer if you are in Siargao,” she said.

According to Lahbati, her mother has been taking swimming lessons “and has been good at it but we cannot fight mother nature. The currents were too strong and she drowned.”

Lahbati then said her mother was already conscious and resting after receiving medical treatment in the hospital.

“Thank God, My mom is conscious na, with dextrose and oxygen. She’s resting because she lost a lot of blood when she vomited,” she said.

The actress thanked her family and those who offered their prayers for her mother.

“She’s better now and slowly recovering at the clinic. Picking her up tomorrow (Wednesday) because there isn’t any flight today,” Lahabti said.  /kga
