MANILA, Philippines — Kapuso actress Carla Abellana was in tears as she announced on Thursday the death of her dog Sunny.
In a video she posted on Instagram, the “Pamilya Roces” actress was seen caressing Sunny on her arms while crying.
“My heart is broken. My Sunny is gone,” she wrote in the caption.
Abellana’s boyfriend Tom Rodriguez asked for prayers in an Instagram story on Wednesday, saying “Please please help us pray for this little fighter … we are here at the hospital and he is currently going into shock …”

Days before Sunny’s passing, Abellana also asked her followers to pray for Sunny who was confined for “multiple illnesses.”
The 32-year-old actress expressed how tough it was to see her dog “weak, with no appetite and barely the energy to get up and walk.”
And for her, it’s even harder leaving Sunny behind at the animal hospital, “not knowing for sure if he’ll get better any time soon.”
In a separate post, Abellana vowed to take care of him “until the end of your days. Mommy’s got you. So let’s keep fighting.”
