WATCH: Heart Evangelista gives tips on how to decorate homes for Christmas
With Christmas just being barely two weeks away, there are those who may be cramming to think of a suitable theme for their respective holiday decorations. Actress Heart Evangelista shared a few tips and tricks fans can use when decorating for the upcoming occasion.
For this year’s decor, Evangelista once again asked for the help of event stylist Badang Rueda, as seen in her vlog via YouTube on Saturday, Dec. 8. Rueda, who initially wanted to be an interior designer, was responsible for styling her 2015 wedding with Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero at Balesin Island.
“To combine the cheap and the expensive,” was Rueda and Evangelista’s most important tip to fans who are thinking of decorating their houses while sticking to a budget. While buying more expensive baubles can be considered an investment, there is nothing wrong with buying cheaper decorative items that are of good quality.
Evangelista takes pride in purchasing ornaments that she can use even when it is not Christmas. For this season’s decorations, for example, she wants to add a touch of blue to her Christmas tree.
She was able to find blue and white balls that she can use all year round — since it has holes, she can put a wire and hang it up her Christmas tree for the holidays, and remove the wires and put it in a nice vase for display for the rest of the year.
“So this is what you probably consider like an investment piece, something that you’ll be able to use forever,” Evangelista said, holding up a tassel ornament. “…And for me as much as possible, whenever I buy Christmas decorations, I want something that I can use again even if it’s not Christmas so you’ll also have more space for storage.”
Evangelista opted to keep her decor simple yet grand. She bought gold hairy pillows to give a luxe look to her tree, which is the focal point of her decorations.
Lastly, to ensure that the baubles get to retain their shape, Evangelista recommends keeping the original boxes.
“It’s important that you keep the boxes like store it properly because it’ll go a long way,” Evangelista stated. “Again these are investment pieces; you will use them forever and it’s something that you can pass on to the next generation. It’s a memory. A Christmas tree is very special.” JB
