MANILA, Philippines — BTS and Taylor Swift are the only musicians who made it in this year’s “The Bloomberg 50” released Friday.
The media outlet described its “The Bloomberg 50” as a list that “highlights those who changed the game in global business in the past year.”
BTS is the first Korean act to be included in the US media outlet’s round-up of the most influential people.
According to Bloomberg, the group’s inclusion in the list stemmed from the success of their albums “Love Yourself: Tear” and “Love Yourself: Answer.”
Moreover, Bloomberg said the seven-member band owes its popularity “to its willingness to address social issues, mental health, and politics.”
It added: “Based on BTS’s success, Big Hit Entertainment, which manages the band, is expanding into movies, games, and original YouTube content; in March it said revenue more than doubled last year, to $86 million.”
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s inclusion in the list is because of her “Reputation” stadium tour which grossed $266 million in the US.
According to Bloomberg, “Her Reputation Stadium Tour grossed $266 million in the U.S., more than any other tour this year—and a record for a female artist.” /muf
