Apart from being two of the biggest stars of the entertainment industry, it appears there is another thing Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez have in common: they both have never gotten a nose job.

Cuneta took to her Instagram last Dec. 1 where she expressed her gratitude to all her fans who voted for her to win the special Lifetime Achievement Award of the Star Cinema Online Awards.

She also shared a ton of good news to her fans; for one, her movie with Richard Gomez and Kathryn Bernardo, “Three Words to Forever,” quadrupled in ticket sales. Shooting for her new movie under Reality Entertainment also kicks off next week, while another one under Star Cinema is on its planning stage.

Despite all the bountiful news that Cuneta has shared to her fans, however, one fan thought it apt to comment about her nose.

“Mas maganda po yung ilong nyo sa Sharon Cuneta Show (Your nose was better in the Sharon Cuneta Show),” wrote a certain Pam (@pampampaola), referring to Cuneta’s Sunday night musical variety show in the 1980s. “Sana di niyo na pinabago (You should not have had it changed).”

Cuneta was quick to address the netizen’s comment, clarifying that she had never gotten her nose done.

“@pampampaola hahahaha di po nagalaw ang ilong ko kahit kailan,” Cuneta said. “Yan pa rin yan. Sorry taas naman ng standards.”

(I never had my nose touched, ever. It is still the same. Sorry, your standards are too high).

She also said in a longer comment that her nose gets sharper whenever she loses weight.

“Pati pisngi ko lumiliit pag pumayat. Lahat nga ang sinasabi pumayat na pisngi ko. Baba ko ang meron pa di mo ba nakita?” wrote Cuneta, as she asked the netizen if they were just bashing her.

(My cheeks slim down when I lose weight. Everybody says my cheeks have slimmed down. My chin has not, can’t you see?)

“Ay basher ka lang ba ineng? Itulog na lang natin. Pag inaapi ako biglang pinapaganda ako ni Lord sige. Baka maubusan ka ng pipintasan sa akin!” she continued to say in jest. “Yaan mo pagtulis uli nyan lumapit ka sakin itusok ko sa eye mo ang nose ko okay lang?”

(Are you just a basher, girl? Let’s just sleep it off. The Lord makes me beautiful when I am maltreated; watch out, you might run out of things to make fun of me! Don’t worry, when [my nose] gets sharp again, approach me so I can poke you in the eye with it, is that okay?)

Velasquez, on her end, has learned to brush off and laugh over comments regarding her nose after being accused of having it done in the past.

A certain Francine (@_clarissamanuel) shared on Twitter last Nov. 26 a before and after picture of Velasquez, which showed her from the heyday of her youth to the present day.

The post was retweeted by a certain Hope (@velado_hope) on Nov. 27,  saying, “[It’s] the same nose.”

Velasquez found the comment funny, as she replied to the netizen’s tweet, confirming, “Yah it’s the same nose [laughing emoji].”

Velasquez in the past has also poked fun at nose job rumors. Back in May 2016, she shared a video of her on Instagram using a camera filter that removed her nose from her face. She used the hashtag #RegineRetokada.

In the video, a voice in the background can be heard asking, “Miss Reg, nagpagawa daw kayo ng ilong?” (Miss Reg, did you really get your nose done?)

Velasquez, in an attempt to make light of the insinuations, replied in comedic fashion, “You are so right. Ayan o, pinatanggal ko na, para wala nang chismis.” (You are so right. There, see, I had it removed so people would stop talking). NVG
