Sunshine Cruz mourns cousin Teejay: ‘No more pain’
Sunshine Cruz is one with her family in mourning the loss of Teejay Cruz who succumbed to cancer on Nov. 21.
She paid tribute to her actor cousin who died at 37 in an Instagram post yesterday, Nov. 24.
“Teej, I will definitely miss you. Your voice, your smile and how you are as a cousin. One of the sweetest and always the life of the party,” she said.

“No more pain Teej. You can now dance as much as you want. We love you so much Teej. Thanks for the love.”
The “Kapag Nahati ang Puso” actress shared pictures of her with Teejay in family gatherings, showing that they had made many happy memories despite having to bid him goodbye so soon.

“Pero I know kahit si tito sinabi na di na siya nagsuffer now and ang saya-saya siguro talaga niya sa heaven now with God (But even uncle said that he’s no longer suffering and he must be so happy in heaven with God),” she said.
She also suggested working with Teejay’s fundraiser Spike for Hope. “Isip tayo way na matuloy pa din reunion na makakapagpa-happy pa sa mga kids na tinutulungan niya sa Spike for Hope Shine!”
Spike for Hope is a fundraising volleyball tournament to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Teejay is Tirso Cruz III and Lyn Ynchausti’s eldest son. He was part of the “Ang TV” cast in the 90s and after leaving showbiz, went on to work in St. Luke’s Medical Center. His own father was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2014, but had surgey and eventually recovered by 2015, when he was declared cancer-free. This led Teejay to be interested in helping children with cancer. JB
