Kapamilya shows compete in NY fest

ABS-CBN Corporation has received five nominations at the prestigious 2012 New York Festivals International Television and Film Awards for its news and current affairs programs and specials, the website www.newyorkfestivals.com announced last week.

To compete with entries from over 40 countries are “Storyline,” nominated in the biography/profiles category; and “TV Patrol,” in best newscast, for its extensive coverage of tropical storm “Juaning.”

“Krusada,” a weekly documentary that espouses advocacy journalism, got a nod for social issues/current events. “Rated K” competes in magazine format.

“EDSA25: Sulyap sa Kasaysayan,” a docu on the 25th anniversary of the 1986 People Power revolution, is in the history and society race.
