‘First Love’ to be shown at Hawaii International Film Festival

The film “First Love” top-billed by Bea Alonzo and Aga Muhlach will be shown at this year’s Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF).

Paul Soriano, the film’s director, announced the movie’s participation in HIFF’s Southeast Asian Showcase through an Instagram post.

He posted a photo of the movie poster with the screening schedule.

“FIRST LOVE is an official entry at the Hawaii International Film Festival, apart of the Southeast Asian Showcase. To everyone in Hawaii, hope you can check it out,” Soriano wrote.

“First Love” lead actors Alonzo and Muhlach also took to Instagram to announce the news.

Alonzo, who played the character of Ali, said it’s a “kilig afternoon” after learning about the film’s entry into the festival.

Muhlach, who played Nick’s character, said in his Instagram post: “When it rains, it pours. FIRST LOVE is an official entry to the (Hawaii) International Film Festival (HIFF), a part of the Southeast Asian Showcase. To everyone in Hawaii, hope you can check it out!”

The movie is among 187 films from over 35 countries that will be presented during the film fest.

“First Love,” which premiered on October 17, tells the story of two strangers who serendipitously crossed paths and fell in love.

The film was shot in Canada and produced by Star Cinema, Viva Films, and Ten17P.
